Que Sera Sera : Refreshing blues and stinging tales of love and regret from the skilled fingers and voice of Holywood’s very own Martin, who has carried his muse from Northern Ireland to Germany and Nashville. Crisply produced, superbly played acoustic guitar and banjo pervade Martin’s version of JJ Cale’s world weary Same Old Blues, which is swiftly followed by a gorgeous take on Tom Waits’ Old Shoes And Postcards, with its sweet, sympathetic pedal steel guitar and blues harp. Other highlights include a fine version of Mark Knopfler’s Your Own Sweet Way and Hendrix’s Little Wing. Country blues of the highest quality. (Musicians Union)

Que Sera Sera : Der in Hamburg lebende Nordire spielt auf seinen Shows überwiegend akustische Instrumente. Die geben auch auf dieser Maxi-CD den Ton an, denn gemeinsam mit vier weiteren Musikern an Harp, Bouzouki, Banjo, Mandoline und Pedal Steel Guitar nahm O'Sullivan seine Interpretationen von fünf Songs auf, die aus dem Repertoire anderer (Hendrix, Knopfler, Cale, Waits und Livingston/Evans) stammen. Ebenso breit gefächert ist der Stilmix des Gitarristen und Songwriters, der Folk, Blues, Rock, Country und (bei Konzerten) auch keltische Musik favorisiert. Martin O'Sullian überzeugt außerdem als Sänger und Keyboarder - insofern ist es schade, dass der ganze Spuk nach einer guten Viertelstunde schon wieder vorbei ist. (df) Blues News
